The Magic Of Ruby Jewelry

Ruby Jewelry is worn for many reasons. Some may very well wear it because the ruby is their birthstone; however there are many other reasons to wear this remarkable gem. Not only is the ruby absolutely beautiful and classy, looking so wonderfully sparkling against gold or silver, it is also thought to be magical and has a simply wonderful history.

For a long time, ruby jewelry has been thought by many to have magical healing powers. This appeals to many people. Ancient civilizations believed in the magic of gems and one wonders if perhaps these powers were someone overlooked as modern medicine took over. If so, it can certainly be implied that just because something was looked over, does not mean that it is not valid.

When it comes to the belief of ruby jewelry having healing powers, this gem specifically has been thought to be able to aid in the healing of blood and anything related to the human heart. Hence the color! However, it should be mentioned that even thought most of us think of a ruby as being pure red, a ruby can range from bright orange to a deep purple-type red. A clear and perfect red is actually not the perfect ruby! The deeper the color, the higher quality ruby jewelry you have; therefore the dark almost purple color ruby will be the one that is most expensive and rare…

Ruby jewelry has a wonderful, deep and rich history. Long ago, the ruby was used for medicinal purposes. This gem was used to aid in cures and also to protect people. Ancient civilizations used the ruby to treat the digestive system in humans, give energy to a person’s blood and to help aid in heart issues. The ruby was also thought to protect; thus soldiers wore the ruby when facing a battle.

Many years ago, in the 1300;s, the crown of the famous King Charles IV of Luxembourg was filled with precious large rubies. If you added the karats of those rubies, it totaled over two hundred and fifty karats! Rubies have long been sought after; especially large ones. A one hundred and thirty seven karat ruby exists and in currently in the Smithsonian museum. However, if you want to talk about the most expensive ruby ever sold or bought, it would be almost fifteen karat ruby that was sold at an auction for almost four million dollars.

When thinking about purchasing ruby jewelry; it is best to think about quality of the gem and not the size of the gem; this is what really matters most. Large orange rubies are sometimes turned red by intense heat; so if you go for actual real quality; this is the best way to go. Who wants a fake red when it comes to a ruby? Looking for the perfect ruby jewelry? It will be a piece that is a dark red with a hint of purple. Do not go too far into the purple realm for the best ruby jewelry there is.

Kylie Minogue swigs on Diamonds at Brits party

KYLIE Minogue celebrated winning Best International Female Solo Artist Award at the Brits Awards by swigging a $74,700 Flawless cocktail given to her by another VIP clubber, the Daily Mail reported.

The cocktail, a trademark of the exclusive London club Movida, is made from Louis XII cognac, half a bottle of Cristal Rose champagne, brown sugar, bitters and a few chips of 24 carat edible gold leaf. But the bottom of the glass contains the most expensive surprise – an 11 carat diamond ring.

Two security guards were assigned to follow the drink from preparation stage right up until the last drop. A source told the Daily Mail, the buyer did not want to be named but said: “He’s known in the royal circles.”

The 39-year-old singer added fuel to the gossip fires by moving a ring she was wearing on her index finger to her wedding finger to accommodate the sparkly new accessory before dancing with her gal pals to her popular single WOW.

Clearly enjoying her themselves at the crowded after party, Kylie Minogue and Aussie singer Natalie Imbruglia held a back-bending competition to see who was the most flexible.

“It was a close call. But Kylie probably won. It was all just for fun really,” a party guest told the Daily Mail.
